About Us

Whenever I received presents as a child, I remember looking longingly at those beautifully wrapped or uniquely packaged presents. It didn’t matter if they were glossy or matte, plain or adorned with ribbons and stuff. That fascination for nice packages now extends to my purchases. I am partial to products that come in attractive packages.

I am sure thousands of people out there are as enamored as I am with lovely package designs. This site aims to unite these people through a fun, healthy, and interesting exchange of information related to package design.

Whether you’d simply like to look at and appreciate different designs, offer your two cents’ worth on a package design you saw, share your knowledge on modern design practices, or trade opinions with other people interested in package design, there’s something for you here. We can explore the world of package design together, especially now that it has become an essential marketing tool.

Product packaging has indeed evolved throughout the years to become a major influence on consumers’ buying behavior. Since they are no longer the receptacles they were once, product packages must be designed to add value to a brand and drive sales. You need to build a strong visual identity to appeal to consumers.

We can share thoughts on what makes a package design appealing. The community developed through this site comprises people of diverse backgrounds and personalities, so having different insights on a package design’s visual appeal is sure to be thought-provoking.

Despite the diversity, we can all agree that a package design’s appeal is influenced by the design’s color palette, graphics, shape, and typography. Wouldn’t it be fun if we could be a designer’s focus group if they want opinions on a design they are working on?

We can discuss how colors evoke emotion and shape our perception of a product. It would also be nice if we could enlighten each other on the emotions that each color stirs in us.

Does a package design have the right color tint or shade? Is it consistent with what the brand represents? These are among the questions we can raise in our forum.

Regarding graphics, community members may suggest good open sources for images. Members may even vote on which is better: embellishing/editing an image taken from an open source or designing a unique, original image.

Let the community hear your thoughts on buying an average product in a distinctively-shaped attractive package over a great product in a typically shaped package.

What appeals to you more, serif or san serif typeface? Would you like bold fonts on the package design? Is simple font preferable to artsy ones?

These are some topics we can feature on this site, either as a blog article or a forum discussion topic. A compelling, desirable, and responsive package design is not only about visual appeal.

So, if we look at it from a broader perspective, we can cover a wide variety of topics on package design.

Since our site is not sponsored, we can review the package design of some interesting products. Let me know what you’d like to see here besides blogs and a discussion forum.
